Tricks to Improve Your Small Business Blog Traffic

When you start a blog for your small business, you know the value it can add both to your online presence and your bottom line. However, like many small business owners, you may find that you work hard on your Small Business Blog Traffic. But you do not need to worry about the matter because there are several ways you can adopt to drive more traffic to your business blog.

There are some tricks that you can implement in your blogging strategy to grow your business blog traffic exceptionally.

Publish Content Early Morning

SEO specialists have studied patterns in business blog readers, and they have concluded that a blog posted before 9 am gets more attention. People have more time to read and catch up on emails, blogs, and other reading before they turn their full focus on work. Try scheduling your blog posts to publish in the morning by 7 am or 8 am to get more readers for your blog. You can use a content calendar to schedule blog posts for the right time to get them in front of more readers.

Use Online Bookmarks

Use famous bookmarking sites like digg.com, del.icio.us, stumbleupon.com, and others to get more attention for your small business blog. This helps you reach a broader audience who might be interested in reading your blog posts and other updates you share regularly. When bookmarking your blog posts on popular bookmark sites, you should use relevant tags and keywords to get your blog posts found in more searches.

Encourage Social Sharing

When internet users find something interesting and useful, they are more likely to share it with their friends and family. So, you should be using a plugin or widget with your blogging software to encourage readers to share your content across their favorite social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter etc. This helps your readers to spread the word for you and could even help great blog posts get viral attention.

Buy your Own Blog Domain

When you are creating a blog for your business, avoid using “free” blog accounts like yourbusiness.blogspot.com, or yourbusiness.wordpress.com. Put your blog on your company domain such as yourbusiness.com/blog so your website page ranking will increase as well.

Use Google Analytics

This is a free tool provided by Google that all business owners can use.  It includes statistical information eCommerce tracking and metrics to help you find out where visitors come from and provides advanced data analysis to help break down the numbers into purposeful data. As a result, you can deliver a personalized experience on your business blog to keep them coming back for more interesting reads.

Consistency is the Key

A blog that is updated infrequently will not get much attention from internet users. Don’t ignore your business blog and write a post just every now and then. Create a regular posting schedule so you update your blog on a frequent basis. We suggest 2-4 posts per week, but two weekly posts at the very minimum.

Many small business owners have trouble with a regular posting schedule because they do the writing themselves. It’s understandable if you don’t have the funds to hire a part-time blogger so you can write blog posts with a minimum of 500 words to keep your blog updated on a regular basis.

Update old Blog Posts

Many bloggers wrongly assume that they have to publish new content to take more traffic for the blog. That is not 100% true. You can still leverage old posts by adding more content and use them to take traffic for your blog. Just choose the blog posts with a good number of readers and repurpose them with more relevant and useful information to attract more readers.

Share Your Posts on All Your Social Media Profiles

You should post a new blog article on all your social media accounts. When you do this effort, you will get more readers for your blog. If you find this task time-consuming, you can use social media automation tools to get your blog posts shared on your social profiles automatically. When you post a new blog, it will automatically feed to your other online accounts saving you time.

Write about Trending Topics

Avoid selecting highly competitive topics and select new and fresh topics that are trending in the market.

That means you should be one of the first to cover that topic. And your content will instantly reach in front of a wider audience. You can use tools like Google trends to stay on top of popular topics in your niche or industry.
